Opened in 2003, Lounge 201 was the brainchild of Matt Weiss, a DC native and long time owner of two other popular bars on Capitol Hill, Red River Grill (now reopened as Union Pub) and Politiki. Weiss drew his inspiration from the need to have a more luxurious nightlife choice and better private event space on the Hill that was still affordable and accommodating. Thus Lounge 201 was born.
Never a cover or attitude, everyone is welcome and well taken care of at Lounge 201. Another important part of their mission statement is to give their guests value.
